MASDT this month completed the training of tobacco facilitators to equip them with knowledge and skills to go out to different areas where SCV tobacco is grown and train farmers in their second year of tobacco production. The farmers will be taught in their mother tongue during May for a period of three to four weeks. Training contents include natural resources, infrastructure and placement of farm structures, sustainable farming systems, the production environment, and occupational health and safety.
Full training will also be given on vegetable and livestock production, updates on the production of SCV tobacco, governance, management and leadership skills, and governance instruments such as legal form of ownership, organisational structures, meetings and business plans.
